Congratulations Infinity Institute | Best Middle School in NJ

A Jersey City magnet school serving fewer than 300 students is New Jersey’s top middle school, according to a new U.S. News & World Report ranking released Tuesday.

Infinity Institute, a public school that requires applicants to take a special assessment to gain admission, scored highest out of the 708 New Jersey schools U.S. News ranked. The Hudson County school serves grades 6 through 12.

At Infinity Institute, 98% of students scored at or above the proficient level for math, and 97% scored at or above that level for reading. The student-teacher ratio is 11:1, which is better than that of the district.

The student population is made up of 48% female students and 52% male students. The school enrolls 58% economically disadvantaged students. There are 26 equivalent full-time teachers and 1 full-time school counselor.
